Weird Al is still awesome.
The great thing about Al is that his lyrics get better as the song goes on. The reverse is usually true of most pop and country.

Dierks Bentley. Great songs, great band. And could the guy be any more likable?

no more pr0n or reincarnation without permission
Wednesday, August 29, 2007
Oh good lord:
In one of history's more absurd acts of totalitarianism, China has banned Buddhist monks in Tibet from reincarnating without government permission. According to a statement issued by the State Administration for Religious Affairs, the law, which goes into effect next month and strictly stipulates the procedures by which one is to reincarnate, is "an important move to institutionalize management of reincarnation."
I get it, and surely the Dalai Lama gets it. But isn't there some rule about the inverse proportionality of the silliness of a rule and its enforceability?
Oh wait -- that must be what these guys are for:
Police in China's capital said Tuesday they will start patrolling the Web using animated beat officers that pop up on a user's browser and walk, bike or drive across the screen warning them to stay away from illegal Internet content.
I kid you not.

getting all our ducks' wallets in a row
Once we've figured out how to save people's money from the flu, can we figure out how to save, you know, people?
